The four year old curriculum at Excellent Learning is focused on developmental and academic growth to prepare for kindergarten. Though we concentrate on social skills for our four year old learners, academic pursuits are just as important in our 4K classroom. We approach learning with a stress on individuality. We also offer the First Steps program, a state funded program in which impoverished children are able to attend a full day educational program. Components of our four year old curriculum include:
- Guided enrichment activities to practice skill mastery.
- Knowledge and skill building opportunities that allow them to participate in conversations about every day events or personal experiences.
- Engaging in imaginary play and investigative thinking through interactions with people, materials, or the environment.
- Large and Small group time for teaching challenging concepts including:
- handwriting
- mathematics
- language skills
- literacy and reading readiness
- Complex lessons and challenging information that encourage critical thinking and higher order thinking skills.
